インターネットで無料英会話 今日はビジネス英語です。
Hi, everyone. Today we’re gonna talk about the word “schedule”.
Many students say “I have a schedule.”
That’s not correct English
Instead of saying “I have a schedule.”,
You can say “
I have an appointment.”
Or “
I have plans.”
The way you use schedule properly is talking about your day.
How is your schedule today?
Means do you have time? Do you have any plans today?
What are you doing 9am 10am 11am …..?
What are you doing today? What’s your schedule today?
How’s your schedule this week?
For example, I want to have a meeting with you.
Call you on the phone,
“Let’s get together and talk on business. Let’s get have a meeting.
How’s your schedule this week? How’s your schedule Wednesday?
How’s your schedule is your general plan for day or week.
Not one appointment or one meeting.
If you have one appointment or one meeting, just say
“I have a meeting.” “I have a appointment.” “I have plans.”
Very simple lesson, but very important.
Don’t say I have a schedule.Do say I have a plans/ a meeting.Or if you want to be very vague,
“I have things I have to do.”
“I have something to do.”
“I have plans.”
“There’s something I have to do.”
All of these are general things, not very specific.
OK? See you next time.
