I’m not sure what he said exactly, but as a result,

French speaking people were little bit angry and
they sued him.
フランス語を喋る人達は怒って、彼を訴えた。
They are now suing him. 彼らは石原都知事を提訴中です。
I’m very surprised people are suing to a governor of Tokyo Ishihara,
彼が石原都知事を訴えてることにとっても驚いています。
but it’s very typical came to say something
controversial.
でも、それは議論の余地がると言っていいくらいとても特徴的な事柄です。
This is another good word.
We often say thing make people angry and as a result,
人々を怒らせ、結果として
some people want to sue him, to take him to court and to get money from him.
人が訴えて、裁判所に連れ出し、お金を得る事柄についてCntroversalは使います。
I think few years ago some women sued him
数年前、女性が彼を訴えたと思う。
because he said “ばばあ”.
彼がばばあーっていったから
And maybe some foreigner sued him because he used a word to insult Asian 外人.
そして、石原都知事が外国人を侮辱する言葉を使ったので、外国人が彼を訴えた。
Anyway, this time some

Something derogatory is basically something insulting, looking down something.
